As many of you may remember, Streetz 108 originally launched as Club 961 Online in June 2015 as a online pop station. After the launch, the station gradually gained popularity. A few years into streaming, we began shifting toward hip-hop, incorporating Latin music due to the growing number of Hispanic listeners tuning in. Fast forward to 2018, we fully rebranded as Streetz 108, playing 100% Hip-Hop and R&B. From 2018 to 2022, we experienced incredible success. Moving into 2023; well, let's be honest... we’ve seen a gradual decline in listeners as more people switch to streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify. We’ve worked hard to keep listeners by adding more throwbacks along with popular hits from the 2010s (like Lil Uzi Vert, K CAMP, King Von, Playboi Cardi, J Cole, etc.). While that has helped, we still want Streetz 108 to remain the best station in the streetz. If the current format no longer meets our expectations, we are considering two options: either going off the air or flipping the format to AC (Adult Contemporary), featuring the best hits from the ’80s, ’90s, 2000s, and today. While this wouldn’t be a hip-hop or urban format, Adult Contemporary is slightly gaining popularity on both FM and online stations. So we want to hear from you, should we stay Streetz, or make the switch to AC? |
